Tension Headache
Ever felt like there’s a tight band squeezing around your head, or a heavy pressure sitting behind your eyes? That’s often what a tension headache feels like.
Tension headaches are the most common type of headache and are usually linked to muscle tightness and stress rather than a medical condition. They often come from tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back, which can build up from long hours at a desk, poor posture, stress, or even clenching your jaw.
When these muscles and joints get tired or stiff, they can refer pain up into the head — creating that familiar dull, pressure-type ache.
Common signs include:
A constant, dull ache (not throbbing)
Tightness or pressure around the head or across the forehead
Stiffness in the neck or shoulders
Headaches that come on with stress, fatigue, or after long periods at a screen
The goal is to help you understand why your headaches happen, relieve the pain, and give you the tools to stop them from coming back.
