Silent Migraine
A silent migraine (also called a migraine aura without headache) is a type of migraine where you experience many of the usual migraine symptoms — but without the head pain.
Even though there’s no actual headache, the nervous system is still reacting in the same way it would during a migraine. This can cause a range of symptoms that can be confusing or worrying, especially if you don’t realise they’re migraine-related.
Common signs include:
Visual changes such as flashing lights, zig-zag lines, or blurry vision
Dizziness or light-headedness
Sensitivity to light, sound, or smell
Nausea or a general “foggy” feeling
Tingling, numbness, or difficulty concentrating
Silent migraines can be triggered by similar things that cause other migraines — such as stress, hormonal changes, dehydration, lack of sleep, or certain foods.
The goal is to help you understand your symptoms, reduce flare-ups, and restore confidence in daily activities — even when migraines appear without pain
